Dwarven Battle Bonnet

I started this hat last spring. I am working on finishing all my started knit or crochet projects.
This was fun to knit.

Spring is here!

Erik is helping Noah learn to ride a bicycle.

Myra wanted a new hat. I had her pick out a pattern and tell me what color she would like. The yarn is Sinfonia, purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Some Crochet

I am working on a Scarf for me. It's about 2/3 of the way finished. I will be ready for next fall.

A spring hat gone wrong. Sure it looks great.. but it was supposed to be child sized. I used to heavy a yarn and went up a hook size to make up for it. I knew the finished hat would be bigger but was hoping it would still be child sized.

And last but not least a bookmark in Rainbow colors for fun.

Hats!

It is too cold in the basement to sew. I miss my Dear Jane Quilt. I have been sitting upstairs watching old movies and knitting (and playing computer games).
Last month it was hats, hats and hats.

Knockoff
(Ravelry Link)

There was a fourth hat too, but no picture. It was just like the lower two photos in a pink and blue pastel yarn.

A dress up day at school!

Renaissance day at school next week. They have to dress up, they get a grade for it. It is an all day event with games and activities. The pants and shirt are previous Halloween Costume parts. The Tunic and Hat are New for this event. It is a little big, but I bet even back then they got hand-me-downs or clothes made a little big to allow longer wear.

More Christmas Gifts

Sisters Hat by Janet Gallagher
http://jan-knitfreepatterns.blogspot.com/2007/03/sisters-hat.html
Yarn: Rowan Designer DK 1 skein ( I had a little leftover)
Needles: US7

I added the picot edge. This pattern gave me problems, but only because I kept forgetting to pass the Slipped stitch over. And I could not figure out what I kept doing wrong. It has flaws but I am Happy with it.

Fleece scarf with a button hole stitch.
(simple but time consuming)

Plain garter stitch scarf.
Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun - Grape and Red Heart Super Saver - Dark Plum
(One strand each held together)
Needles: US 15
Size: approximate 10" x 60"
I just kept knitting until I ran out of the Grape Homespun.

My Laptop Got a new Hard Drive and came home for two days. It Died Completely.
They did not send it off to be tested as they said they would. One Tech said it possibly had a short in the motherboard or in the Hard drive controller on the mother board. Then someone else came along and decided just to change the Hard drive and call it fixed. * insert Grumbling*
Shawn took it back to the tech and they are to send it all the way back to the company (which they said they were going to do the first time). It will take them a minimum of ten days to decide if they can fix it of if the store should just replace it. *sigh*

Just to be even more annoying Windows Vista did not allow me to back up all my favorites. Security? Whatever reason, I am having to slowly remember what blogs I was reading. And as I rediscover them, I am adding them to the sidebar here on my blog.
All the files and Photos seemed to backup fine, just my favorites was full of holes. ??!!

CUPCAKE......

...Hat

Pattern found : here.
Yarn: Yarn Bee - Iced Fruit for frosting and Unknown yellow acrylic for cake.
Needles: US7

I had trouble with the Make Nubble, in the directions. So I substituted a picot edge. I took pictures of how I did this but don't know how to describe what I did.
Instead of the round to make nubbles I did the following;
3 rounds of knit
1 round of *YO, K2tog* (repeated around)
3 rounds of knit
Using a crochet hook I then folded this edge and attached it on the wrong side to the last row of the rib pattern.

After doing this I followed pattern until decreases left 3 stitches and worked about and inch of i-cord.

Knit hat

My third ever knit project. It has flaws, but the fact that I can see them makes me think I learned something. I feel pretty good about just getting the UFO finished. I had started the hat last winter. Too bad none of the kids like the colors.

Now that the hat is done, these cute little grannies will be my t.v. project. A make it up as I go along poncho for Myra. I don't know how much yarn there is to finish this project. I "borrowed" it from my mom's yarn basket back in June. This was my car project. But now that school started there are not many long trips in the car.

I found a few more socks for monkeys. But not the perfect pair of Halloween socks. It is really hard to find non-directional patterns. Myra says she wants a sock kitty so I will have to changed the ears and the mouth embroidery on hers.

I am cleaning out the Craft Room so over at the side is a Link for the Swap Box. Take a look I may have something you want trade for. I will consider any kind of trade it does not have to be a like Item. I will try to add more to the box as I clean.

"The very model of...."

"I am the very model of a modern Major-General"

While making this hat I found myself humming.
