A bunch of finished stuff

 Twistygoo Hat.
 WestKnits Earth and Sky Shawl
 Scathach's Hat
 Felted Pirate Hat
Ruffled Scarf

These projects are all from August and the first week of September.  I have also made a few bags/Purses and working on a few quilt related projects.   I am getting itchy fingers to work on the Dear Jane.  I would like to get the blocks finished before I get into the fourth year of the project.

What is new

I got some fabulous new drop spindles, made by my dad. They are beautiful and I tried all four out already. *grins*

I have also been knitting the WestKnits Mystery Shawl. I am going to make the largest size. I have one more pattern repeat, then a simple border.

Trying a new Craft! Spinning!

Above shows a 2ply yarn I made all by myself! It was super fun.
I am using a drop Spindle that I made myself. The Spindle is a little off Balance but I will try sanding and making sure hook is centered.

Above is in progress to show how thin I have managed to get a single ply.
I still have breaks when I pull too thin but I am getting a more consistent, less thick/thin areas.

Myra finished her "Dear Jane" blocks. She decided to make them into a tote like the one I had made myself. She did such a great job piercing all the blocks and adding the sashing. I quieted the finished piece and put it together into a tote for her. The two smaller bags I made from the left over pre-quieted fabric we purchased for the back side of tote. Now she has a beautiful Tote for her crochet projects.

Myra Crochets

I made the hat on the octopus and helped with the embroidery on both.

The octopus was Myra's first stuffed toy. She did a super job with just a little help from me starting each arm. The pear is her second project and she followed the instructions almost completely on her own.

Monster

He is from the "Big Book of Knitted Monsters"
I used "I love This Yarn Stripes" from Hobby Lobby. Knitted on US7 needles.
He was so much fun to make! In the book, he is called Harold the Houseplant Monster.

Since I had to include a pocket from another monster, I named him Floyd. Because Floyd has to have a place to keep a small notebook and a pencil.

Knitting

Plain blue fingerless gloves, for dad.

A potato chip scarf, crocheted.

The completed Pinwheel sweater, modeled by my niece.

A very productive month for me.
The sweater took two weeks! I used a bulky weight yarn and US10.5 needles so it was fairly quick.

Summer Scarf

The Pattern: Oh, Helen!
The Yarn: Plymouth Shire Silk
Needles: US size 7

I changed the cast on to 21 stitches. I used 2 balls of yarn. the scarf is super long. It is a pretty Robin's egg kind of blue. The picture does not do the color justice.
