Works in progresss
Thanks to nap time, I was able to layout and pin-baste a quilt.

This quilt was made using Amy Butler's free pattern. It was mostly a use what I have project. I did purchase the border fabric. All other fabrics came from my stash.
Above is a crochet coaster, using the selvage edges of the fabrics in the quilt and a few scraps of light blue.

A Bookmark and a Wall Hanging
I got a new sewing machine so hopefully more unfinished projects will get finished. My old sewing machine was almost 12 years old and well used.

Busy Month!!!!
This has been a busy month. Between the many cases of flu, head colds and strep throat being passed around the family, I did get a little crafting done.
I have returned to working on the one large Cross Stitch project. I had not worked on it since last may or so. The first week of January I worked on the area inside the red oval.

I finally finished the Shrug/scarf. It was a car and away from home project that I did off and on all of last year. It is a Gift that the recipient probably gave up on my ever finishing.
It is all single crochet, in the back loop only. The yarn is a Mohair/acrilic blend .

The last Project before the new year was a Christmas Ornament. Christmas Dust Bunny by Dragon Dreams from the Festive issue of A Needle Pulling Thread.

Christmas Gifts for me. Three De Grazia in Cross Stitch Books!
I plan on finishing the first thing I stitched form them as a bookmark. The title of the chart was "Spring Swing".

Finishing!

An entire Saturday was spent turning them Into a wonderful collection.
Most all of the above ornament are for My kids with the exception of the Mitten. I did that one for me. Still have two or three to finish and two to pick out and stitch for this year.
What a terrific sense of accomplishment to get a few unfinished projects done.

Things I make
I like all sorts of crafts so just to introduce what kinds of things I make here are a few pictures of the most recent projects.
things crochet
A purse for my sister.
A purse for Myra and one for Barbie too!

afghan stitch crochet square with cross stitch April Fools Dragon. Square sewn to premade pillow.
Dragon cross stitch pattern
copywright by Dragon Dreams, Jennifer Aikman-Smith.
On to sewing projects and Erik's Birthday cake.
Noah as Elmo.
okay, I did not sew Elmo but the other kids are here and he had to be here too!
Myra as Princess Peach.
Myra's costume is entirely homemade.
Erik as Super Mario. Eriks hat, hammer, crochet mustache, and faux overhalls (just the top was homemade with velcro on side and worn with jeans)
Erik's Birthday is two days before halloween, so I had to make a matching birthday cake to go with his choice of costume.
