Monkey Business

Another sock monkey! For a Friends Birthday.

Felt Applique hearts.

I also crochet a lip gloss holder.

More Kool-aid Dyed Wool

I dyed with kool-aid flavors, Black Cherry, Grape and Lime. It reminds me of Lilacs. I am going to try 3d felting with this yarn. I have started Knitting a narrow scarf. I am thinking of adding a crochet edging. No real plan just improvising as I go along.

It's a Boy!

I went to Target, to get a Boy doll. They must have had about 100 of them on the top shelf. There was not a single boy in the bunch. So I got a bald girl baby and did a makeover. (Last month Target had two boys. If only I had know I needed it then.)

I went to the Cabbage Patch web page and renamed him, Norville Roger.

Amy Butler's Yoga Bag pattern.

A simple tote bag.

A Chunky Cabled Hat.

Busy Week

Felted wool sweater into a purse.
made entirely of recycled and thrifted Items. (Sweater, pillowcase, button and handles)

Stitch Markers set 1.

set 2

set 3

Another Knit Dice bag, using the Kool-aid dyed yarn.

I Tried the Yarn Harlot's Unoriginal Hat Twice and frogged both.
One was too big and the other too small. It is all due to needle size. There is nowhere close to my home to get a set of 7mm needles. I will keep trying.

Busy Weekend Knitting and Sewing

Myra and I experimented with Koolaid on this One ounce skein of wool. It had some cuts in the skein, so we just used the larger length to dye.
We used Grape, Strawberry and Cherry flavors.

I Knit up this Banana Republic Knockoff hat using
Red Heart Grande in Cranberry.

I Next made a Dice Bag, with a seed stitch base.

I also Started yet another Hat. The Yarn is Lion Brand Wool Ease. (needles are US7)

I did a little sewing to help organize my growing collection of Knitting tools.

More Christmas Gifts

Sisters Hat by Janet Gallagher
http://jan-knitfreepatterns.blogspot.com/2007/03/sisters-hat.html
Yarn: Rowan Designer DK 1 skein ( I had a little leftover)
Needles: US7

I added the picot edge. This pattern gave me problems, but only because I kept forgetting to pass the Slipped stitch over. And I could not figure out what I kept doing wrong. It has flaws but I am Happy with it.

Fleece scarf with a button hole stitch.
(simple but time consuming)

Plain garter stitch scarf.
Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun - Grape and Red Heart Super Saver - Dark Plum
(One strand each held together)
Needles: US 15
Size: approximate 10" x 60"
I just kept knitting until I ran out of the Grape Homespun.

My Laptop Got a new Hard Drive and came home for two days. It Died Completely.
They did not send it off to be tested as they said they would. One Tech said it possibly had a short in the motherboard or in the Hard drive controller on the mother board. Then someone else came along and decided just to change the Hard drive and call it fixed. * insert Grumbling*
Shawn took it back to the tech and they are to send it all the way back to the company (which they said they were going to do the first time). It will take them a minimum of ten days to decide if they can fix it of if the store should just replace it. *sigh*

Just to be even more annoying Windows Vista did not allow me to back up all my favorites. Security? Whatever reason, I am having to slowly remember what blogs I was reading. And as I rediscover them, I am adding them to the sidebar here on my blog.
All the files and Photos seemed to backup fine, just my favorites was full of holes. ??!!

CUPCAKE......

...Hat

Pattern found : here.
Yarn: Yarn Bee - Iced Fruit for frosting and Unknown yellow acrylic for cake.
Needles: US7

I had trouble with the Make Nubble, in the directions. So I substituted a picot edge. I took pictures of how I did this but don't know how to describe what I did.
Instead of the round to make nubbles I did the following;
3 rounds of knit
1 round of *YO, K2tog* (repeated around)
3 rounds of knit
Using a crochet hook I then folded this edge and attached it on the wrong side to the last row of the rib pattern.

After doing this I followed pattern until decreases left 3 stitches and worked about and inch of i-cord.

An update

Congratulations to Felicia of Fluffy Flowers. She will be getting the book of baby crafts.

My computer is down for repair (if it can be fixed). It has been locking up. I was able to at least back up all my files.

I have been busy. I have been making Ornaments for as swap. I finished another knit hat and a my first knit washcloth. I started another Hat. This hat has a cable pattern and is my first try at cables. It is fun. I will post pictures of the finishes when my Laptop gets back from the shop.

Rhappy Rhallowreen!

Zoinks! It's Scooby Doo!
(Hubby did a great job on this years pumpkin.)

Myra is an Oriental Fairy.

Ninja Turtle Noah.

Prince Erik. (based on a online game character)

Happy Halloween!

Knit Hat

This is my second knit hat. The first was an unwanted gray blob. This hat is a winner with its 12 year old owner. Finished a day after his birthday. (oops!)
This hat is so much better. Lots of stretch and length made it a perfect fit.

The Pattern was found at http://www.hjsstudio.com/rc2hat.html. I did change the decrease to keep the pattern going up to the very top of the hat.

I used size 7 dpns and Red Heart Super Saver in Camouflage. This size is a good one size fits most. But I would like a smaller size for the younger members of the family.
I think I will do the pattern again and try smaller dpns. I am not sure why I picked size 7 this time. ( I am guessing I thought for some reason the pattern said size 4 mm and the closest thing I had was a 7. That is my story and since it worked out, I am sticking to it.)
