Time to get back to being crafty.

This weekend I finally got back sewing and all things needle arts. I Quickly did a couple of clothing repairs and that jumped started me back to action. I sewed on a patch and mended a seam. Then moved on to turn one of Myra's favorite pairs of Jeans (with a ripped knee) into a tote/purse for her. I also sewed up a little zippered box bag for her to keep her lip gloss and such in.

I found some great pattern booklet finds at the thrift store that have my fingers itching to get back to my Dear Jane. And to start new projects. I will try to resist the new project urge.

I found and interesting leaflet for knitting a new yoke on a sweatshirt to dress it up a bit. I am going to give that a go, even though it is a "new" project.

Now I am off to make up a list of which Dear Jane blocks I need to work on to get back with the group. Lets hope I am not 40 blocks behind like I was last time I took an unplanned break.

Up for Swap this entire box of pre-cut "tumblers".
Various fabrics, some vintage and all fabric types including cotton, linen, and flannel.

Bias and more bias

Bias and more bias

The bias seems never ending. Maybe it was because I kept sewing it to the wrong side. I sewed the bias on the the front so I could top stitch it from the back without worry of not getting all the edges caught. But at first I kept sewing the bias to the back. *sigh* I finally got my brain on the right track and finished up my apron.

The Swap Box

I mentioned I was cleaning out my craft room. I have a basket full of stuff I am ready to swap out for "new" stuff. I have created a photo album just for The Swap Box. You can find the link in my sidebar.

Today's featured Item:

A set of lap looms for making hexagon place mats, doilies, hot-pads and coasters.

There are a few other items in the photo album. I will try to add to it each Friday as I clean up my craft room.

Knit hat

My third ever knit project. It has flaws, but the fact that I can see them makes me think I learned something. I feel pretty good about just getting the UFO finished. I had started the hat last winter. Too bad none of the kids like the colors.

Now that the hat is done, these cute little grannies will be my t.v. project. A make it up as I go along poncho for Myra. I don't know how much yarn there is to finish this project. I "borrowed" it from my mom's yarn basket back in June. This was my car project. But now that school started there are not many long trips in the car.

I found a few more socks for monkeys. But not the perfect pair of Halloween socks. It is really hard to find non-directional patterns. Myra says she wants a sock kitty so I will have to changed the ears and the mouth embroidery on hers.

I am cleaning out the Craft Room so over at the side is a Link for the Swap Box. Take a look I may have something you want trade for. I will consider any kind of trade it does not have to be a like Item. I will try to add more to the box as I clean.
