A little Bias....

...Works wonders!
Also added are one white 2 inch border and a 3 inch Scooby Doo fabric Border.
Still to add is one more border, 6 inches of Brown.
I have also designed a quilting pattern, using Scooby silhouettes and dog bones.

Aquarium!!?

I wanted to make a slipcover for my bag to keep it clean and reduce wear to the bottom of the bag, but I did not think about it looking like a fish bowl.

Scooby Doo Quilt

The central block is completed. Now to move on the the borders.

here is a close up of the dog tag.

And here is what I did with the scraps from the Half Triangle squares (measures 8 1/2 by 7 inches). Many would think this more insane than the Scooby construction. But even with the tiny block size it was relaxing, simply because it was so random.

Fish Purse

Machine quilted with hand applique and embroidery.
Definitely a one of a kind and almost dizzying to look at.

The quilt.

This quilt is one I started the summer of 1997. It is my dream to finish it by the end of this summer. I was almost finished when I stopped working on it. The only part that remained was the one appliqued border. Work on it was interrupted by a job at Hobby Lobby. I quickly learned it is better to stay home instead of paying for daycare.

The border that runs across the bottom of the quilt should go all the way around.

I had started this quilt to enter a contest. It required the use of Thimbleberries Fabrics. And the use of blocks from a given selection. The tulip in the outer border and the corner basket block are two of those that where given as choices. The tulip block used in the center of the quilt were reproduced from a thumbnail in a library book. The only Information given in the book was that the pattern was from circa 1830. I had to draft the templates for the block. The curves were extremely difficult. And lining up the center bottom of the tulip with the dividing line of the leaves was no picnic either.

Turtles Complete

I think this is the most hand stitching I have ever done on a single project. I am really happy with how it turned out. This Is also the most hand quilting I have ever done.
I think that I like applique now.

Inside-out

I finished the lining. And added a couple of pockets to the pattern. Now to add the shoulder strap. and finish the change purse.

Turtles Quilted

This went much faster than I thought it would.
Next to work on the strip of fabric which will be the sides and bottom of the purse.
